Guarana is a wood vine that grows to a height of thirty feet. It has compound leaves, clusters of inconspicuous yellow flowers, and pear-shaped fruit containing small shiny brown seeds. Guarana is native to the tropical forests of the Brazilian Amazon and is also cultivated in Brazil. The seeds are gathered when ripe.
