At one time this herb was ascribed the nearly supernatural qualities of a "cure-all," but current knowledge yields no evidence to support such a belief. Although native to Europe and Asia, blessed thistle is now cultivated in many parts of the world, including the United States. The leaves, stems and flowers are all used in herbal preparations.
