The plant grows upto 90 cm high and is perennial. It has wide leaves, pointed at the end and white, bilabiate flowers. Melissa originates from Greek meaning,”bee” which are attracted to it because of it’s potent fragrance. The medicinal part is the oil distilled from the leaves whether fresh or dry.
